Solve the equation x³- 2x² - 4 = 0?
Hi people,
I'm doing a long distance course and my tutor is currently on holiday and I am stuck on a particular chapter in my exercise book.
I need to solve the following equation: x³- 2x² - 4 = 0 and I am unsure how I deal with x³ and 2x²
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

First, move the - 4 to the opposite side of the equation
x^3 - 2x^2 = 4
This then removes the confusion and you are able to factor to...
X^2(x - 2) = 4
Now you can move the 4 back...
X^2(x - 2) - 4 = 0
