brand new snooker riley england cue.?

hi, today i get my new snooker cue.its a riley england(john higgins).i used it but the tip is very hard just like as wood.as a result , chalk goes off to easy ,too noisy,and many lost games...what can i do??in the case there was some tips very light and soft around a blue colour sand.should i use them??and how??thanks for reading.sorry for my english writing quality.(answer me pleace.)

that tip on your cue is only a feral protector.the feral being the metal bit at the top of the cue.You need to remove that tip and replace it with a blue diamond tip,that is the tip that you are refering too. Go to your local club and they will do it for you.You should be able to buy tips from most sports shops and every snooker club will have them.If you have never retipped a cue it is pointless me trying to explain how to do it.just go to your club and watch how it's done!!! good luck!!!
