I am a pretty good pool player, and am in the market for a new cue. Any suggestions to what I should get?
Like one of the big names...Meucci, McDermott, Cutec, Viking, etc or the custom cues like Joss, Samsara, J. Pechauer? Any advantages to either or no? I did find a cue maker in my hometown that has been working with wood for 45 yrs and started making cues 5 yrs ago and makes and sells some pretty awesome looking cues for $400-$800 normally.
I would contract the custom cue maker. you can get what you want. options like: weight; taper of the shaft; type of joint; grip wrap; overall length; wood. all of these change the feel of the cue. try some cues the maker has in stock to make your choices. plus, you will play better with your own one of a kind cuestick.
