3 Types of Inground Pools
Everyone can have an inground pool installed in their backyard or property but not all achieves the perfect inground pool. Nothing beats inground pools that spell beauty and perfection. More than just a piece of leisure amenity, swimming pools adds to the overall beauty of the property. Often, it also becomes the center of fun for the entire family and friends. However, installing inground pools is not simple. There are lots of things to consider before you can say that "Yes I want an in ground pool installed in my backyard". First off, you must afford it. Inground pools don't come cheap and you really need to have the funds to afford it.
More than the cost, an important consideration is the type of inground pools you want to be installed in your property. There are basically three types of in ground pools and these are the concrete, vinyl-lined and fiberglass. In other countries, there are contractors offering steel or aluminum-walled pools. Concrete pools are custom-built and you can decide for the shape and size. This type of pools is called the Gunite or Shortconcrete pools. This is for the fact that the pool is shot from a gun onto steel-reinforced walls. A drawback about this type of inground pools is the time needed to install it. It usually takes longer to have a concrete pool. Though that is the case, it is guaranteed that concrete inground pools are the most durable type of pool.
Vinyl-lined inground pools on the other hand, are made from flexible liner that fits directly onto the hole that attaches to the wall frame. The wall frame is usually made up of steel, aluminum or non-corrosive polymer. The good thing about this type of inground pools is the variety of colors, patterns and designs that will suit every personal preference. This means that you can choose a perfect pool that matches your personality or the one that fits your home design. Majority of vinyl inground pools are rectangular in shape. There are also L-shaped and freeform vinyl inground pools liners available that you can choose from.
A precautionary tip when choosing vinyl-lined inground pools is to avoid pets, pool toys, and any sharp objects that can possibly puncture the liner. While liners are repairable, it is highly recommended to follow this safety tip in order to keep the vinyl in mint condition. You might want to know that repair of the vinyl-lined pool can take up to three weeks. So for you peace of mind, be sure to choose vinyl-lined inground pools that are 20-30mm thick. The last type of inground pools are the fiberglass pools.
Fiberglass pools are factory-molded. This means that the shape and size of the inground pools is based on the giant bowl-shaped piece that is set into the excavated hole in your backyard. This is quicker and easier to install compared to other types of inground pools. Would you believe that installation of fiberglass pool can take only up to three days? Fast right? The good thing about this type of pool is its gel coat finish that is extremely resistant and durable. Also, fiberglass is non-porous unlike concrete that can harbor algae and demands more chemicals. A drawback of this inground pools type is the limited availability in sizes and shape. Also, since it is a huge moulded pool, transporting it can be a bit hassle and could take too long. There are certain rules on oversized loads that are regulated by individual states thus sometimes; truckers need to drive a long route around several states just to deliver the fiberglass pool.
All these types of inground pools are accessible and available nationwide. But you must understand that it may vary from location to location.
