can i clean my cue shafts with sand paper?
its a maple north american shaft i think.Coz i was just wiping it before with a napkin but i doesn't work when time goes by. So i started using sand paper and it works pretty well. My concern is, am i damaging the shaft??? what would you recommend? thank you! i have a joss mcdermott and lucasi. And start cleaning them with a sand paper after games.
this is NOT a good idea... cue shafts have been sanded and finised and sealed or however the decided ot do it already... the point is that they have proecte keep them from warpign or gettign damaged in toher ways... when you use sand paper yoUr sanding this off... and the wood too.. wich will make it smaller... tho ti will do it slowly so you might not notice hte difference for a while.... plus if you dont sand it evenly not only will it make it smaller but it will put dips in it and alot of other stuff... try polishing it.... and also if ur problem is it not sliding well is not nessessarily your sticks fault.... any liquid on your hands will make it not slide well.... and if the room isnt cool its warmish u know it wont slide as good.... and ithink this is cuz ur hands sweat a little bit evne f you dont notice wich is liquid... soo iwould try whiping my hand off well before each time i touch it... and then if your playing at a bar they almot always have these cone things.. that are made out of some powdery junk.... we haveo nat myh ouse and wherei go play pool.. u just put ur hand on it and get some of hte powdery junk nd rub it onyour stick/hand and it makes it slide really really good.... dont worry if you get some on the table or ur clothses it will actually jsut whipe off... if you dont have one of these baby powder works... we used to keep a gallon bucket with it in it b4 we got our cone thing... now.. can you answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aq2BG5UrQkEY1p1B5Do9eSKDxQt.;_ylv=3?qid=20090521202429AAk9Hjs
