Times are tough and you want to save a little money, but you know how important it is to maintain your carpeting so you decide to call one of the ads that state only $14.95 a room. You think what a deal, for $30 I can get a couple of rooms cleaned.
Well before you schedule an appointment, there are some things you need to look for on those ads. These are typically the classic bait and switch. They lure you in with a low price and then pressure you into paying for lots of extras. Next thing you know your $30 carpet cleaning turns into $300. Unfortunately this happens all the time. There are some things that should be extra like protector or oder treatment. But every carpet cleaning price should include vacuuming, pre-spray, spot treating and steam cleaning. These are the basic things needed to get your carpet cleaned.
If you see stated on the ad "dual scrub method" look out. This means they are not including any cleaning chemicals for the price quoted. This is a classic bait and switch, you we can run a wand over it for $14.95 but if you want it to be clean you will have to pay $.20 extra a sq foot for pre spray and $.15 a sq foot for spot treating. The truth of the matter is that is what it costs to get your carpet cleaned. But this should be told up front, not pressured on you once they are in your home. The other thing to ask is do they use sub-contractors? If they are not actual employees of the company they might not have proper training or insurance. That means they can end up wrecking your carpet or get hurt at your home and you or on the hook for it.
So if you are looking for carpet cleaning in Maple Grove and see these ads please proceed with caution. If it sounds too good to be true it most likely is.
