Fury Cue Stick Are they good! ?
Well i snapped my only cue during the world series. I got overly excited on a bad call...Go Phillies!... Any way I play ocassionally enough to warrant my own cue. But maybe not enough to warrant a high end cue. I saw a Fury cue for sale anyone has any opinions. Dl-07 is the model. Mainly i go with a friend who is in league. I am kind of his sparring partner for a lack of a better description.
My name is Scott Taylor. I am the creator of Fury Cues. Although my response may obviously be a bit biased, I can certainly speak to the subject with some level of knowledge and authority.
In short, Fury Cues are, dollar-for-dollar, one of the best cues on the market, if not the singular best. Please allow me to go further into detail about the cues, and a little about their history.
First, there are currently four main lines of Fury cues, and two special classifications. They are:
• Fury RP Series: FULLY inlaid cues (no overlays, decals, or paint). These cues feature a Radial joint pin, phenolic joint collars, Tiger Everest tips, and high-end fiber linen ferrules. The shafts are made from select pieces of hard rock maple from Michigan. The retail price range of these cues is $390 to $515. They are intended for competitive players who want a high end cue from both a playing and a construction aspect. Within the last year, the RP Series was upgraded, featuring a new weight bolt system and a phenolic insert in the shaft to receive the Radial pin. There was no cost increase after the upgrade. In fact, there has not been a price increase on the RP Series since their induction in 2002. Pro players that have used the RP include US Open winner "Rocket" Rodney Morris, José Parica, Max Eberle, Keith McCready, Frank Alvarez, Val Finnie, Bobby Weimar, and Lee Van Corteza.
• Fury NR Series: These cues are a hybrid of inlays and overlays. Inlays are expensive to do, and only add an aesthetic quality to the cue. So, to cut down on the cost to the player, without making sacrifices, some parts of the ornamentation are done using overlays. The joint is the Speed Lock. Apart from these changes, the NR Series is equivalent to the RP. The price range of the NR Series is $190 to $220. Kelly Fisher, the #1 female player in the world and six-time World Snooker Champion, won the majority of her tournaments with a Fury NR cue.
• Fury DL Series: The DL Series of cues is the best-selling in the Fury line, mainly because of the price point. All fifteen models retail for $115. There are no inlays in DLs; all the decorative artwork is done with decals under the finish. This does nothing to sacrifice the playability of the cue, but does drastically reduce the cost to produce them.
• Fury LL Series: These cues are similar to the DL Series, but feature fewer overlays and a less-expensive phenolic material for the joint collars. These cues were designed to be able to have models below the $100 price point. The LL Series retail for $95.
• Fury Sneaky Petes: There are currently three models of Fury Sneaky Pete cues. These feature a hidden joint, and the overall look is inspired by traditional house cues. Beyond that, there is nothing sneaky about them! The Fury SPs retail for $149.
• Fury Jump/Break Cues and Jump Cues: There can be no doubt by those in the know that the Fury Jump Break cues have forever changed the way that 9-Ball is played, and break cues are made. Featuring a one-piece carbon-fiber phenolic ferrule-tip assembly, these cues transfer more power to the cue ball when jumping or breaking. With their leather wraps and beautiful wood, these cues are very hard for us to keep in stock, especially when you consider the low $179 retail price.
Certainly Viking and McDermott make good quality cues. That is not in dispute. However, when you consider the price difference, Fury cues are the obvious choice for thousands of players.
Fury cues were the official cue of the 2008 Generation Pool 9-Ball Championships by the Billiard Congress of America (Won by Xiao Ting Pan, a Fury-sponsored player). Fury has been a solid supporter of the APA, BCA, BCA Leagues, VNEA, UPA, WPBA, and the ACS. Fury sponsored the inaugural World Summit of Pool in New York. Our association with pro players, tour promoters, amateurs, and billiard organizations is unparalleled.
I personally stand behind every Fury cue produced. Anyone who decides to purchase a Fury cue based on my recommendation here can rest assured that if they are unhappy with their purchase, I will do what it takes to make them satisfied.
I suggest you continue to do your research before making your purchase, and verify the information that I have provided. Confidently I say that once you have all the necessary details to make your decision, you will choose to purchase a Fury cue.
Best regards,
S. Scott Taylor a/k/a "Jim Fury" to some of the road players
