In your opinion, what is THE BEST pool cue (pool stick)?

& why?
I am looking to buy my boyfriend a new pool stick for his birthday on the 25th.
He made a living on the pool table for a very long time before I knew him.
I've heard from him, that Cuetec is a pretty good brand.
But, I'm curious as to what you guys think, your opinions, & why?

I know my boyfriend very well & know what qualities he looks for in a stick.
The one I'm buying him has all the top of the line Cuetec qualities.
Even 24kt gold skulls on it.
$240 on Ebay.
He approved of it.
He did say himself that I can't just buy him a stick, he has to know about it.
So I agreed to let him see it & read all the details, & he liked it.
Cuetec is his favorite.

I have my opinions about the best cue, but I must say, I would NEVER buy someone that was that good at pool a cue as a gift. At least not without their input.
Cues are a very personal thing for most high level players. They want something that feels and plays a very specific way. What's "best" in my eyes may not be what's best in his eyes.
If you insist on buying him a cue as a surprise (and have the budget), I suggest finding a nice custom cue that looks very nice. Custom cues really are the cream on the crop in general, and even if he doesn't like how it plays, he can always show it off and tell everyone, "Look at this beautiful cue my girlfriend bought me."
To answer your question directly, IMO the "best" cue out there is the Predator P3. It is the most accurate and technologically advanced cue on the market by a country mile. A significant number of good players don't like Predator shafts though (for reasons unrelated to their performance), so it wouldn't be a great gift though.
BTW, Cuetec is the bottom the barrel as far as I'm concerned. Most good players hate them with a passion.
