TaylorMade R9 SuperDeep TP Driver Review
The TaylorMade R9 SuperDeep TP Driver is a pure player's driver. It has a 460cc head with an ultra-deep clubface, creating a lower moment of inertia and forward center of gravity for increased workability. The two weight ports, FCT and MWT, create 448 launch condition combinations and the new extra-low-torque Aldila R.I.P. shaft is engineered for strong players seeking a mid launch-angle and low spin.
The R9 Super Deep is not as long as my previous Taylormade Driver - R7 Super Quad TP but it is great to stand over at address and provides easy workability and feel. Some reviews indicate club suits high swing speeds - my experience is the opposite. I have felt myself slowing down and still getting great distance and control.
If you gain confidence from visual cues such as deep face drivers, then I see the point. Otherwise, it doesn't really do anything that my i15 didn't do. In fact, the i15 seemed to have a bit more forgiveness. Traded off the Ping with a Javln M7 for this with a Fubuki 73s. Shaft felt a bit lifeless in this head - I could feel it load, but I didn't feel it unload. Anyway , that's why they make all sorts of flavors. I hit high with high spin. Yep, it flattened out the ball flight - a bit, but it didn't do any more than the ping, and I prefer the i15 actually. the Ping had a more solid feel and sound, to my ear. to each his/her own.
I have hit the ball straight every time I have swung this cheap golf equipment. However, If I miss hit it at all I can feel it in my hands and its normally about 5YD's shorter than my Hibore. If you have a swing speed over 100MPH+ then this might be the club for you otherwise stay away from it. And if you get this club play with the weights before you start deciding if you like it or not.

I'm a real big driver aficianato and I've bought a driver a year for the last 10 years. I bought this driver based on a recomondation and a description and pictures i had seen. Before my purchase i had not seen this driver in person. It blew my expectations away. It's easy to hit and the face is so deep it seems like you couldn't miss a drive if you tried.
